Hollywood has been making a dream for decades, and just as the costumes are fragile people like Ingrid Bergman, Barbara Stanwyck, Audrey Hepburn and many other stars wore to the golden age of film.

Given the delicate fabric, it is surprising they still exist at all. Yet many have survived. And their famous designers - Edith Head, Adrian, Walter Plunkett - are as famous as the stars themselves.

You can see some of their work in icônes''du Costume: Hollywood's Golden Era and at the James A. delà''à- Michener Art Museum Doylestown until September 5.

The exhibition includes 45 costumes, all original except for three, used in Hollywood films of the 1930s to the 1990s.
